Getting Scrappy Challenge - Color me Lucky!

Okay I know I am so, so, so late in getting my challenge layout done for Getting Scrappy, but life happens and I try my best! This weeks challenge is Color Me Lucky! (Use the color green on your page.)

This challenge runs from March 4th, until March 17th, so if you haven't entered yet, you still have plenty of time!

For my layout I used DCWV template and paper. I love these photos of Kenzie!

The green plaid is from DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies, and the pink photo mats and pink doily are from DCWV Jewel Colored cardstock matstack. The title is cut from Simply Sweet cricut cart using EP Country Drive paper. The green glitter strip is by Best Creations. I did some faux zigzag stitching with my white gel pen in between my photos. I was dying to use my sewing machine that I just got but I think I bought it broken so I improvised lol

My journal spot is cut from Lacy Labels and I created the green lines with a piece of scrap paper dipped in green ink. I also inked the edges with green and a little bit of pink, along with all of my wonderful doodling LOL

The pink part of the doily is cut from Lacy Labels, the shadow welded using CCR and doodled on, and then the white part of the doily is actually part of a Prima packaging that I fussy cut out, it is a clear plastic that I glued down with Diamond Glaze. My white strips are punched with my Fiskars threading water edge punch and inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a little bit of pink ink as well.

If you've just popped in to visit my blog or are reading this via email and you'd like to join our FUN, then please CLICK HERE to start at the beginning with Lynda's blog...For the hop today, I wanted to share some of my VERY FIRST scrapbook layouts from 2004!

I was soooo excited when I finished my very first scrapbook layout of all time! :) I bought that little foam kitty from Michaels and turned it into a tiger and used a little fabric kitty on the bottom also from Michaels. Then some letter stickers and unmatted pictures to finish it off! You can't belive how proud I was! :)

As I did more pages I started to get a little better and used some vellum that I wrote on with a swirly kind of writing, and topped it off with 3 embellie flowers, and used a corner punch on my mat.

Can you see a pattern here? Letter stickers, unmatted pictures and very simple embellies and I was done. But I am still very proud of my first layout! They were 8.5"x11" pages so there was a little less room that a 12"x12" and they had a little CAS feel to them that I like.

I got a little fancy on this one! I used paper fiber paper and some eyelets along with a pop out border from a border book. This page was actually covered in stickers like the horse one, but I re-did it when I seen how fugly it was! It was in the same week though so it's not cheating by showing this page!;)

I had an idea of cutting the diagonal corners off and I went with it.. I really like it still! This page also has some large letter stickers and zero embellies! I used the butterflies on the paper as my extras on the page.

Another great idea I think! I tried to go with a mosaic look and I really like how it came out, even though the center is smaller than I wanted.. I cut it down too many times lol. The JOY was all white that I colored with yellow and drew on some swirlies to match my paper, and the metal accents were givin to me. The JOY saying on the bottom came from a LOVE sticker pack that I STILL HAVE! lol

This is one of my FAVORITE oldies! The clay critters were from Michaels I think and the borders were from a little kit that I purchased a long time ago. This page came out so girly and pretty and I still love it! :)

Another superrrrr CAS oldie that I love, the tag is from that kit that I mentioned and the butterflies were pop outs from a page in it also, I think even the frame was too.. wow I was sooo not original lol But I do like the design and the little butterfly trails and I used diamond glaze on each butterfly :) really girly and pretty!

I learned to use white paper, paints, inks, rhinestones, and my cricut! As well as buttons, twine, stamps, embossing powders and sooo much more! :)

Gorgeous paper line designs by Best Creation, Echo Park, and so many more that I never knew existed! I used an edge punch here my cricut and a great sketch!

One of my all time favorites! I love my paint "waterfalls" and it was the first time I tried a digi image! And I love it! Plus my 3d flowers, a chipboard ticket covered with paper and ink and a stamp, AND fussy cutting flowers to use on my layout.. all new to me and look how far I have come!!! :)

Lasting Memories Challenge Let's Celebrate! Kenzie's 1st Birthday

Hi everyone! Welcome to yet another challenge over at Lasting Memories!

This week we want to see a special celebration layout - birthday, anniversary, milestone, graduation...etc.The possibilities are endless!

For my layout I scrapped Kenzie's first birthday party. Her theme was ladybugs so I got double use out of her Halloween costume which was only one month before! Talk about getting your money's worth! ;)

Here is my double page layout:

My background paper is from Recollections Bright and Basic and the 8.5x11 red paper is Recollections Jewel tone cardstock. The photos on the right are during her party that was outside. We had a princess jumpy house and sandwiches. There was about 30 people there including kids! The photos on the right are post-bath so she had to change her clothes because cake got everywhere!! Here we are opening her presents which were mostly animal print clothes! LOVE!

The balloon picture is her actual balloons that were at her party, I saved the big mylar one. The picture on the bottom right is her and grandpa, in the middle is her and my summerschool prego buddy's daughter Summer all the way from Virginia to visit for Thanksgiving, and on the right is my neighbor's daughter Jamie who is absolutely in love with Kenzie.

In the center of both pages is my banner that I made for her party using Create-a-critter and Simply Sweet for the letters. I took three pictures at these angles, cut them out and glued them together to look like one banner and it worked perfectly as my title!

My tag is cut from the lacy labels cartridge at 4" and I doodled with white and black pen for my lady bug trail.

I used 4 little Recollection glitter 3d ladybugs and Recollections bling along with my white gel pen for flourishes. The blings were the $1 cheapy ones and it showed.. they were really hard to stick down in the right pattern as they were super flimsy and kept folding back on themselves. Really hard to get down but I think they are still super cute.. I don't think I will buy these again though. Maybe only because they were so cheap... lol

Lasting Memories Layout Challenge ~~ Wrapped up in ribbon!

This week at Lasting Memories our challenge is Anything Goes but you must show us ribbon on your layout!

The entire DT got a little surprise in the mail to showcase our prize for this week, which is a huge pile of ribbons, sponsored by May Arts! Let me tell you they have some of the prettiest ribbons. You have to check out Lasting Memories DT inspiration tomorrow and see what everyone else did with their ribbon. I'm excited too, since nobody knows what everyone else got! ;)

My ribbon was a skinny velvet teal (soo cute!) So I used it on a page with my daughter eating her baby pureed peas (bleck!) I think it worked perfectly with the green and orange on my page. :)

The gingham green and orange paper and the solid-ish orange paper are DCWV Baby Girl Stack, I don't have a good close up of the peapod paper but it is from Heidi Grace Designs called Love Sweet Pea. I cut a strip from it and punched the edge with my Apron Lace Fiskars punch. Same with the orange paper and I layered it underneath the peapod paper. My photomats are from my stash from an old DCWV mat stack.

Here is my May Arts ribbon! It is so soft and fuzzy!! ;) I love that it is skinny, so dainty for my little girl pages.

These GREEN alphas are from my stash that I have had literally forever! My sister bought this kit from a TV program and it came with a bazillion little packets of color coodinated little things. Included were buttons, chipboard squares, little one word chipboard tags, brads and these little alphas. In every color you can think of. These matched my ribbon perfectly so what better way than to use my stash ;) The challenge at scrapbookers anonymous is G and you must always use your stash so I am entering this in their challenge since I used these GREEN alphas, buttons, and photo mats from my old STASH!

Sweet Pea is a K&Company rub on onto paper by DCWV Nana's Nursery. I fussy cut it out, doodled around it, and popped it up. LOL I love how you can see the peas dripping from Kenzie's mouth in this pic ;p

The GREEN buttons were from my button stash jar, and I used some of my May Arts ribbon to adorn these cute little heart buttons as well.

My banner is made from 3 different patterned papers from DCWV Nana's Nursery mat stack and I fussy cut out each flag and doodled on them. I strung them up with Honey dew twine from the twinery and curled up the edges a little bit. Lastly, I stuck a fabric MS heart sticker on the middle one :)

The challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut is to use a funny pun on your layout, and since I did not use a cricut cut I can't enter in their challenge but I am still crediting them with the inspiration for this page! My pun (in case you don't get it right away ;)) is my title and paper says "Sweet Pea" and she just so happens to be eating peas! Get it?? Do ya!? Do ya?! Hehe ;P Okay not that funny but I though it was a cute little pun.

Getting Scrappy Challenge ~~ For the Love of Bling!

Welcome to another Getting Scrappy Challenge over at Amanda's Crafts and More!!

This week our challenge is For the Love of Bling! Use glitter, stickles, rhinestones, etc.

You know we all love our bling! :) So if you use it, come join us in our challenge!!

Here is my layout for this weeks challenge!

I am so beyond ecstatic at the way this page came out!

All paper used is from the Echo Park Country Drive collection. The black cardstock is Recollections. I stamped the date in the top right corner with a Recollections stamp and heat embossed it with Stampendous white embossing powder. The yellow twine on the left side panel was included in my gift pack from Amanda, there was so much good stuff in there!!

I inked my doily with some yellow, and used some pretty glitter daisies stacked on top of each other and topped with a twinery twine tied ribbon :) (say that 3 times fast!)

I misted my black paper with perfect pearls silver shimmer spray and flicked some yellow paint. (This is my 3rd time using the paint technique, so I can consider myself an official paint flicker now!! Woo Hoo!)

This cute little daisy is cut from the Create-a-Critter cartridge at 5". I cut the stem two times, out of green and yellow, then trimmed the yellow part off and popped it up on pop dots.

Cutie stamp is by imaginisce that I got for $1 at a LSS. I used a heart rhinestone to adorn the middle of my daisy. The 3 little bees that I used on my page are Jolee's Boutique, then I doodled all of their buzz trails :)

My title was inspired by the song by Sonny and Cher, "My Girl". Once I figured out that I wanted to use this as my title the song was stuck in my head for 2 days until I finished my layout. I walked around all day singing the only parts I know! LOL. "sunshine" and "my girl" are glittered chipboard thickers, and the rest is hand written.

Tim Holtz Configuration Box

I am sooo excited to have finally finished my Tim Holtz Configurations Box! I bought this and started it a few months ago, and then I abandoned it because I went blank and had absolutely NO idea how I wanted it to end up looking like. After many hours of browsing other ideas and many, many, weeks of acquiring new goodies to put in it, I have finally come up with my final product!

AHHH!! Isn't it gorgeous!! I never imagined I could make it look so pretty!

I started with the blank boxes. I moved the the little compartments to where I wanted them and then tissue taped them together. I used alcohol inks in Latte, Caramel, and Ginger to stain my tape and then sealed it all together with Inkssentials Glue N Seal in Matte finish. All of my papers are from the DCWV Eternal Love matstack.

Oh it's gorgeous! I could look at it all day! I'm such a proud artist.. sometimes! lol

The chipboard die is a TH die inked with white, gold, and walnut ink. The gold branch beauty is Prima, and was included in my prize pack from Jaylynnscraps.com! The butterfly is a MS punch, punched out of cardstock covered with the same tissue tape, and then adorned with a black rhinestone. The little pink flowers are all Prima, I will go through each box in more detail below. The feet on the very bottom are TH.

This is a Basically Bare canvas heart. I misted it with Grey Smooch Spritz, and then stamped with the brick image, a Prima background stamp, which I also won in Jamie's prize :) I used the little metal swirl as a mask when I misted it and then I moved it to the other side and adhered it on the back. Super cute!

In my first box in the top left corner, you can't see it but there is a Recollections fabric flower that I cut off of the Floral Trim border. There is another one in a box on the bottom that I will show below. In the middle box on the top, I also left almost empty because it is partially covered. All that is in there is a bling button in the back corner.

Moving on the top right corner there are 2 TH vials. One is filled with my "fake" prima mini roses. You can find my tutorial HERE on how to make your own. For the smaller vial I took apart some old earrings that I never wore and I made a little hook in the cork and attached 4 mini chains from the earrings to dangle down inside.

These wings were also part of those earrings I mentioned above. I get full use out of them now! :) The key is a TH ideaology Locket Key.

On the right corner there is a TH Hinge clip with a ball chain that I took off my Tweezerbee tweezers;) I put my monogram on the chain to let it dangle.

This is a special box for me because the little pocket watch in there is actually made to be a necklace. There is no battery. You wind it up every morning and it runs for 24 hours. When my dad was collecting vintage pocket watches he saved this one to give to the first daughter who had a baby. Out of us 3 sisters, I was the first one, with Kenzie. :) I love that you can see the gears inside. It reminds me of the pocket watch in the ideaology line. I am thinking about making one of those for him for this coming up fathers day or for his birthday. I think he will really appreciate it. :)

I made this rose out of 4 George flowers cut at 3" from paper by Best Creations. It is misted with Grey Smooch spritz. The mini harmonica is a little vintage toy that my mom found a long time ago and gave to me. The red roses in the back are Ruby Violet by Prima, included in my prize won by Jamie;)

The keyhole is also a TM ideaology trinket.

I found these dice laying around in a drawer and I antiqued them up with some alcohol inks, as well as the TH vial that I filled with some white gold microbeads, and the little jingle ball that I found. The little dangling ring is a bracelet charm that I just though was a cute little element to add to my box ;) The pink rose is another Prima flower.

Here is another little TH vial, antiqued with alcohol inks, filled with sand. I put 2 little shells inside to complete the look. There is a little metal sand dollar propped up in the front but it is hard to see. This box stands for the second half of my name. Plus I have always loved the beach and anything that has to do with it. :) The film strip in the front is also TH.

This blown glass heart was a gift from my teacher in high school. His wife made these as a little side business and he gave one to each student at the end of the year who had an A in the class. It is soo pretty but kinda bulky so I never put it on a chain to wear, and now it is displayed beautifully in my box! The flower on the bottom is the Recollections floral trim flower that I mentioned in the first box. I just trimmed one flower off of the whole border and glued it in. I love the way it looks with this necklace.

My very last box is dedicated solely to my daughter Kenzie. You didn't think I was gonna leave her out of a project did you?? :) The clock is TH and is set to 1:02, which is when she was born. The vial is antiqued and there is a little note in it that says Love of my Life when unrolled. The K is a monogram for her name and the little mom charm is from Doodlebug Designs Inc, Oh my words! The picture is printed out in contact sheet size and is from her 1 week old photoshoot. The word above her picture is by Making Memories word fetti.

I glued everything down with my hot glue gun and I didn't have any real problems with it.. Thank you soo much for letting me share my beauty with you! I hope you will leave me a comment letting me know what you think!

Crafty Friends Give Blog Hop

I made another card for Emily for my project today. She too has Leukemia. She is currently in remission and was finally able to go home, but I recently got news that she will have to undergo an even more intense session this coming April and she will need cards, love and support more than ever. So keep those cards coming ladies!!

All papers and stickers are from the Echo Park Country Drive collection. This is a standard 4.25"x5.5" card.

I cut a 1.75" circle out of the front and popped up my little bee on the inside. My sentiment says "you're 'bee'-utiful!" :)

The inside of my card also uses EP paper and I stamped my sentiment from TPC Studio on coordinating paper.

Crochet headband!

Hi! I have seen some of the cuuuuutest crochet hats, beanies, stuffed animals, etc. and I wanted to dip my hands in that cookie jar! My grandma taught me how to crochet a few years before she passes away and I only made half a blanket then ran out of yarn so I never went back to it... Now that I have Kenzie I have decided I wanted to start making some head gear for her!

Then while I'm at it I could offer a copy of anything I make up for sale!!

So without further ado her is my first handmade crochet headband for Kenzie :)

I was making a full size earflap hat until I ran out of this specific white so I unraveled it and made this cute headband with a flower my grandma had made for her blankets but never got to. I attached a blingy button from my stash for the finishing touch ;)

And here it is in action on the beautiful model Miss Kenzie <3

My brother Sean (Emily's dad) called me today with news that he found a HUGE surprise in the mailbox!! Over 15 cards just from the weekend! And that was BEFORE the blog hop! I hope we get bags and bags of cards for little Emily! He told me that he would take pictures when Emily gets the giant bag of cards for everyone to see! :)

I had a visit with physical therapy and my drs office today and things went great! My physical therapist says I'm getting stronger very quickly and I'm even stronger than last week. And my dr says that all my numbers look good today. I had a little time in between appointments so I went to visit my good friend, Allie, who is inpatient. It was fun to see her 'cause we got to play in the hallway on the scooters and bikes! She was my roommate my first few nights ever at Children's and I have a feeling she will be a lifelong friend :0) Tomorrow I am going to school with brother early to drop off my Valentines I made for my class and my teacher will be coming over Wednesday to work on my schoolwork with me so I don't get behind. I sure do miss school. Well Happy Valentines Day to you all!!! My heart sends each and every one of you lots and lots of love!!!!

Welcome to another Lasting Memories challenge Sunday!!

This week our challenge is "All you need is love!"

Use the word LOVE on your layout but does NOT have to be Valentine theme (certainly can be if you like though!)

Here is my inspiration layout I made for this challenge. I'm actually going to frame this one because of the 3dimensionality :)

All papers are from the Authentique Miracle baby girl line except for the pink polka dot and pink striped and the photo mats. It came in a prize pack I won over at The Paper Variety, they ordered it for my winning from A Cherry On Top :) I la la love it! :)

I made my little flags from a circle punch that I cut in half and then strung them on Blossom twine and doodled around the edge.. I "hung" my banner from 2 handmade roses accented on chipboard flourishes.

I will be doing a tutorial on these handmade roses over at Lasting Memories on Valentines day so make sure you come check it out :) It will also be here on my blog the same day, Tuesday, February 14, 2012. I added stickles to the edges of my petals for that sparkle :)

The little footprint circle came from the paper pack by Authentique. I added little pink rhinestones and glitter chipboard flourishes from Recollections

The glittered "Love" is Making memories. (Really hard to capture it's bling on camera ) boo!

I wanted to make an easel card. I have never done this before and I couldn't believe how easy this was!! Background paper is EP and front sticker with sun with also EP, both from the Country Drive collection.

My sentiment is a stamp from TPC studio. Butterfly is a MS punch. Pink paper is from DCWV Nana's Nursery

I stamped my sun with a cute little PKS face, and hand drew and fussy cut my own little kite. Then I added Honeydew twine from the twinery and popped it up. Super easy! But ooohhh so fun and cute! :)

Today is Friday and I made it through my first week at home! It has been so nice to be in my own home with all my family. I haven't been able to sleep in my own room yet because my legs still aren't strong enough for the stairs but I'm really enjoying the camping in mom and dads room. Since I have to be in their room for a while, mom went hunting for a new bed especially for me. Nothing too big and not too small and something that will hold all the "extras" I need overnight. A little searching and we found the perfect fit! And guess what else! I got to pick out a new Spongebob blanket, SB pillow AND SB pajamas!!! Mommy and grandma set it all up for me and now I have my very own space in their room! Just like my baby brother, Justin. I'm SO excited "I could just scream!!!" Well I guess that's it for today. Big hugs to you all!!!!

Today was a chemo day. But I got to go to Seattle from home. Mommy drove me all the way there and I had to wake up extra early. It was even still dark outside! The drive was long but that meant I got to sleep for a while on the way back. All of my blood counts looked great today, no medicine changes and my bone marrow is working hard at making new healthy cells! I also gained another pound this week on top of the two pounds I gained the week before! Which is great cause I have catching up to do. My legs are getting stronger every day and I am LOVING the playing I get to do with my brothers and sister. I will keep you all updated on my stay at home....it's been great! Love you all!!!

So glad to see she's doing better!! Let's get those cards out to her ASAP! :)

Getting Scrappy Challenge - Love of Chocolate!

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday! It's that time again when Getting Scrappy has a new challenge! And since it is February now, go check out who our top 3 were who and our winner was for January!!

This week our challenge is:

Love of Chocolate

YUM!

For my DT inspiration I created a layout of my daughter's first birthday, when she first dug into her cake!

I chose my papers based on the colors in the cake and her headband. (Her theme was ladybugs, so she was dressed in her ladybug costume from Halloween for her party) All papers used are Recollections except the brown for the banner.

The sprinkle design I printed onto white cardstock from Wikipedia.. (who knew!?) :) LOL I didn't know they had pictures like this that you could print, but it worked out PERFECT for me! The scalloped circle and tag are cut from the Lacy Labels cartridge and my title is from Simply Sweet, welded in CCR. The cupcakes are Recollections.

The banner I made is a bunch of triangles cut from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge out of paper from DCWV The Sweet Matstack. The solid brown flags say CHOCOLATE and every other one is just a brown one with swirls and designs. I though it went perfect with my layout about chocolate! :) I then strung them all together with Cappuchino twine from the twinery.

My scalloped circles were cut from Lacy Labels to match my title and then for my lines, get this, I used a piece of scrap paper and dipped it in ink and then made my lines! I seen it somewhere a long time ago, it's like makeshift stamping! lol I also used a REAL stamp by Joy's Life Stamps that says Happy Cake Day from the Yummy puns set. Her stamps are so amazing, she has soooo many cute sayings and fonts, I will be using more for sure! :)

Wow, we're finally home! It's been a long wait, but the docs gave Emily the okay! It feels weird being back with the whole family together again, it just seems like forever ago. Emily is doing so good right now, she's not in a bunch of pain, eating regular food, and even walking around a little on her own without a walker! It's crazy how much stuff can accumulate in just a short time of living somewhere, but we got everything together and back at the house so we can sort through it over the weekend. Branden is looking forward to going back to school for a little while and hopefully doesn't struggle getting caught back up. I'm going to start gathering up some things that we can do without and see if I can pull off a garage sale this weekend or next and try to raise some bill money while the weather stays fairly nice. This seems like a great time to purge! Emily has started wearing her hats more now, she looks so cute in them! Thank you to EVERYONE, it's been a huge blessing having the friends and family that we do!

Digi Darla's Blog Hop and Lasting Memories Challenge -"Going Digital"

For my layout today, I used Digi Darla's "Blessing of Heaven"

I thought this was a perfect little image for some newborn photoshoot pictures I have of my daughter Kenzie. I colored her up with my Derwent Coloursoft pencils and cut her out with my razor blade and popped her up on pop dots. I think she is soooo cute!

I first started with my paint "waterfalls" and let them dry, then I used Echo Park paper, Recollections flowers, and a sheet of printed roses from GCD studios.

I layered 3 flowers from Recollections and attached them with a brad. I also stickled some of the edges of the flower and tucked a TH key underneath.

This is a chipboard ticket by Paper Accents that I covered with EP paper and sealed with Inksenntials Glue N Seal. I used a Studio G stamp and some pearls by Recollections. I inked the edges with Distress ink in walnut ink..

This is 5 stacked flowers by Recollections, stickled and stuck together with a brad.

I fussy cut these roses out of a printed sheet by GCD Studios.. So Pretty!! ( I added the yellow flower later that is shown in my full layout picture above. It had a white hole that I didn't like so I took another picture after I added it but I didn't update this picture.)

The butterflies are MS punches in 2 different sizes.

I also added a TH lock from the lock and key set

Guest Designer at My Sheri Crafts!! Heart month!

YAY! My week is finally here! I am a guest designer this week over at My Sheri Crafts!

This week's challenge is "Love Is In The Air!" - In addition to Valentine's Day coming up, February is Heart month. Love your Valentine, love your Heart and let's see at least two Hearts on your project!
Here is what I did for this Guest Designer project...

Isn't is so pretty!? :) I used a 5x7 photo collage of my daughter and I last Valentine's Day. It says, "Happy Valentine's Day 2011" on the top and, "Kenzie & Mommy" on the bottom. The rose paper is Colorbok, and the pink and red etched looking paper is by Junkitz, the date on this paper is 2005! :O I have seriously probably had it that long! LOL The paper used for the 3 Loves is from Recollections. There is also 2 little red gingham button in the bottom left corner, which were part of a DT gift pack from Amanda! I loved everything she included!

Heart was cut from the Sweethearts Cartridge, pierced with my SewEasy, threaded with Maraschino twine from the twinery and popped up on pop dots. I love it!

For the top left hand corner I tried a new technique where I just ripped little slits in the top of the paper and rolled down to different lengths, then I glued a piece of matching accent paper to the back to show through.. I might use this again I love the little something extra it added! :)

I printed this saying out from a font on my computer and cut them down to size then inked them with pink and popped them up for dimension. :) Love this saying, and the font is perfect for the theme!

I'm so happy I got to be a guest designer this week! I hope you come play with us for our new challenge! Tell Sheri I sent you! :D You have until the 17th of Feb. You could be the next guest designer!

Valentiny cards!

Hi everyone! I wanted to share these super fun and quick little cards I made for Faith Abigail's Cards for Kids!

These are all 3"x3" card bases using paper from MME, Recollections, DCWV and some unknowns. They were SUPER FUN!

This is a clear plastic piece that I bought in a kit from Michaels a while ago. And for the inside I cut a key from the Sweethears cart at 2"

Cupid is cut at 2.5" from the sweethearts cartridge and the vellum saying is from an unknown kit, and MME paper.

Hugs and Kisses is cut from the Sweethearts cartridge and popped up. The inside is stamped with a Recollections stamp.

Vellum strip is from an unknown kit and the ribbon is Celebrate It from Michaels. The inside is stamped with a Joys Life stamp and the negative heart from Sweethearts layer feature

Stamped again with Joys Life stamp and MME papers. Twine from the twinery and button is from a gift pack sent by Amanda! :) Inside is a strip of MME paper and MME polka dot paper also from Amanda at Amanda's Crafts and More.

This card is Made with a vellum saying from Studio 112 and twine from the twinery, the heart is cut from the Sweethearts cartridge and the inside is just matching papers.

You+Me=Love is from MME pack that Amanda sent me and twine from the twinery. Hearts for the inside are cut from Simply Sweet at 1.5 and 1"

I think this one is my favorite. I used the cupid again from Sweethearts and made a little pop up banner out of the MME strip.. I used matching papers for the inside.

I am sending these to Faith Abigail to be sent the children's hospital. I made 8 cards so that is 16 extra entries!! :) GO ME!

Welcome to Cards for Emily!

Emily Ziemathis is a 6 year old little girl that I just recently got to call my niece. I never knew my brother Sean until this past May of 2011 when my family was reconnected and we all met for the first time. :) He and his wife Jennifer have 4 beautiful children. Unfortunately, a couple of months ago little Emily took a turn for the worst.

Here is her backstory:

"At the adventurous age of six, Emily is the oldest daughter of four children to Sean and Jennifer Ziemathis. Although small, petite and quiet, she holds her own with her brothers and sister and has a heart the size her mommy and daddy admire. Arts and crafts, pink and purple, horses and kittens are items that will keep her content and comfortable for hours. Unfortunately, that comfort has been disrupted with the recent diagnosis of Leukemia."

She now lives in the Ronald McDonald house in Seattle, Washington where she feels like she belongs, with other children that are sick and going through the same things. Although other children may have other illnesses, she doesn't feel different or awkward due to the effects the chemo has on her little body because all the other children are going through it too.

Here are a few updates throughout her time there and her most recent update on how she is doing:

It all started when Emily began complaining about her legs and joints hurting, among other trips to the pediatrician. This is when her parents decided to take her to the children's hospital, where they found out the bad news about the Leukemia.

Good news!

Mommy and Daddy got the results of my bone marrow. My goal for last weeks test was for my bone marrow to contain less than 5% cancer cells. Unfortunately, I still had more than that, so they decided to wait a week and try again this week. If it stays above my goal my treatment would change and become more aggressive. My results came back yesterday and the cancer cells are down to 0.28%!!!!!! That is fantastic news!!! My body has been working hard and my medicine is working! We still have more to go but I'm heading in the right direction! Thank you all SO much for all your kind words, warm thoughts and many prayers!!! They are working! Keep them up and hopefully soon I can be free of this yukky cancer! Love you all!"

Shortly after, she got rotavirus :(

The Rotavirus sucks!! All is okay though. Emily is going to be at Children's for one more day to keep up on fluids and get this stupid virus out of her system. Dad has the other little ones at Grandmas house until their symptoms go away as to not give Emily more reason to be at the hospital. Kind of a bummer weekend, can't wait to be a family again..."

Once she cleared the virus out of her system she was able to go back to the Ronald McDonald house!

Yay! I'm finally out of the hospital! Back at the RMcD with the rest of my family. I'm feeling so much better now, still kinda weak and it's getting difficult to walk around a lot, but I'm eating and my tummy feels good!"

Only to go right back and find out now she has pancratitus from the treatments :(

I wish we had some more great news about our little Emily, but this last week has been a tough one. No sooner did she get out of the hospital, we had to take her right back in. So much has gone on so far, this will be a long entry to post, I'll hit the points as best I can... Emily had to go back the very next morning with bad vommiting, which is normal just after this dose of chemo, but this was excessive. That, in conjunction with blood in her urine had us real worried. It turns out that she has pancreatitis which is a not so common side effect of a month-long lasting chemo she received at the beginning of her treatment. The severe inflammation of her pancreas is giving her stomach extremely high amounts of digestive enzymes that are making her vommit. The only treatment for that is absolutely no food or drink by mouth so the pancreas can heal on its own. The blood in the urine is being caused by calcium deposits (almost stones) in the tube just before her bladder. We think at this point the stones are mostly gone with the help of a special drug which is great! Unfortunately, the only form of that drug has to be ingested. So, one pain out of the way leads to more pancreatic flare-up, which has become so severe she now has had two CT scans to make sure there is no other issues causing the inflammation. Right now all we can do is wait while she gets loaded up with pain meds and anti-vommiting meds for her pancreas to come down to normal enzyme levels, which may take another week. The Heme/Onc team has decided to still do her next bone marrow draw on Monday, and I'm very excited to see the results from that! They're saying that if her marrow shows .01% (which I'm sure it will, she's been doing so great!) that we may be able to take her home for the next phase of chemo!! That's if we can get past these stupid side effects!"

A few days later.. Finally some good news!!

Emily's bone marrow results came back last night and she is at 0.00%!!!!! No more leukemia in her body, yay! So she is now in remission and can go on with a standard treatment!"

Except it's not over yet, for this emotionally and physically drained family..

There is still a lot of pain in Emily's belly and side. We're thinking it's because of her pancreas or constipation. Her enzyme levels are still hanging around the 500-600 mark, but the docs want to give her some food through her feeding tube to get her bowels moving. As far as the pain on her side, she just popped up with some red spots and guess what now! Emily has shingles! So there is treatment for that, but she's back in isolation and it will be at least another 10 days to clear that up. Quick summary: We haven't seem any more stones pass, and no pain there, her pancreatitis isn't gone, but close enough to try giving her food with a close eye on her enzyme levels, and she is getting two more drugs added to her IV to fight off shingles! Everyone says this gets better... But when?..."

Then some good news again!!

Emily has finally made it over that big hump! Her pain has almost disappeared and her levels are stabilizing back to normal! Only her pancreas enzymes are still high, but her CT scan this morning showed that it is all healed up! She's been eating small amounts at a time and tolerating everything just fine. The docs say that Emily's immune system was so low when she got shingles, that they never really progressed into a full case, and there isn't much of a risk of spreading it to the other kids. So in another day or two, if all stays like this, we will be discharged from the hospital and we can go back to the RMcD house, until her clinic appt on Monday or Tuesday. That's when she starts her consolidation chemo, and we can go HOME!!!!"

She is doing better now and is finally back at the Ronald McDonald house

I am out of the hospital and back at the Ronald house. Today I had a special visitor......my teacher! I have a super fantastic teacher because she comes to visit me and brings me books, presents, games and schoolwork so I can try to keep up on the days I feel well. She even stays and plays with me and helps me with my reading! How great is that!? Mommy says she is super thankful to have her and loves it when she visits too! I am feeling better each day and look forward to possibly going home soon. I have lab work tomorrow and chemo on Tuesday. Then we will see how long it will be before I can be with my brothers and sister again. I sure do miss them. Thank you all so much for the notes and prayers. They help put a smile on my face and it's great knowing so many others are thinking of me :0) Emily"

She is still at the Ronald McDonald house. She is currently on 7 different chemos and they are taking a toll on this little girl and her family. They are truly on a rollercoaster ride of their lives!

I want to bring some light into her life while she waits for the best news of her life so far, getting to go home!!

Please link up a "get well soon" card or "thinking of you" card or something encouraging, even valentine's day cards! before you mail it out to the provided address. She LOVES arts and crafts and she would really appreciate some hand-made heart-felt love! Just imagine that face when her daddy brings bags of mail to her when he visits! :D

Happy Birthday Grandma--Wiggle it! ;) Haha

This weekend is my step-dad's mom's birthday and I wanted to make a card for her since she is always so supportive of my hand-made cards :)

This card was SUPER DUPER fun to make, I will tell you why when I get down there ;)

The purple paper in the background is a Recollections pack I bought in like 2005. It was my very first paper stack when I started scrapbooking and I still haven't used it all up! The pink paper is from Echo Park Country Drive. I used Recollection glitter flowers, a button also from michaels, and Lilac twine from the twinery. My doily was sold in a pack of 30 at Joanns for like 4 dollars I think, they are sooo delicate :) The little butterfly is 2 different size MS butterfly punches and the big butterfly is from the Serenade cricut cartridge cut at 2.75"

I stamped my sentiment with a stamp pad that has different colors in rows and it came out really light but I like how delicate it looks with the delicacy of the doily. I stacked the different size butterflies on top of each other in alternating colors and the second butterflies wings are not glued down so she could fly away :)

**THIS IS WHY THIS CARD WAS SO FUN!**

I used Amy's tutorial HERE on how to make your own wiggle wire, except she used floral wire and I just used her other idea where she used to take the springs out of her clicky pens. I just recently threw 2 empty clicky pens away so I dug in my craft garbage and got them out! THATS RECYCLING! :) Make sure you visit her blog and check out her tutorial!! She is having a challenge right now (which I am entering) to use a wiggle wire and there are prizes!! :)

I inked her edges with white and embossed her wings with the swirls folder by cuttlebug, I used the debossed side on top. I also stickled her body :)

This is the inside of my card. I used matching papers and cut 2 strips with the MS doily lace edge punch for the accents and punched out matching butterflies as well :)

This week over at Lasting Memories our challenge is to trash your layouts! Normally that would be a bad thing! But we want to see you use trash on your pages; Scraps, something you could recycle, or something you dug out of the garbage ;)

My layout is made up of completely all scraps, except the background paper, ribbon, and metal accent.

Here is my layout:

This is a picture of Kenzie when she was 2 weeks old and her 28 week 3d uldrasound. Just proves how accurate those machines are! And FYI that's what I'm majoring in ;)

All of my papers used came straight from my scrap bin and I recut and reused them.. I really like getting rid of my scraps :) The butterfly border is the negative strip from cutting the butterflies out of it, Great way to recycle!! :)

I found this ribbon in sooo many colors at a warehouse down in San Diego. Miss that warehouse..

Metal accent is Recollections, little stamps are recollections too

I used my new favorite embossing enamel on this doily, and I LOVE IT!! Oh it's so pretty in person! This little guy I cut out of scrap paper that had his picture all over it.

Here you can start to see the tiny bits of pink and white and gold flecks.. Oh I wish you could see it in person..

Did I mention I love this embossing enamel?? So pretty!!!!

Today is my friends daughter's 4th birthday! I made this quick little card this morning before the party and the idea came completely from Amanda at Amanda's Crafts and More. I would love to take credit for it but I can't, I'm just not as creative as her. ;P Visit her blog to see other great projects by her. Here's what I scraplifted. :)

All cuts are from the Create a critter cartridge, can you tell that's my favorite one?? :)

I embossed the pink layer with swiss dots and used a peachy keen face and a little rhinestone for her bow, then finally added white gel pen dots and popped her up.

I inked each one with alternating colors and embossed them with the paisley folder and wrapped matching twine from the twinery for their strings and stamped each one with a different PK face.

For the title I used a stamp from my stash and embossed with recollections embossing powder.. I'm not sure if I like the little white flecks in it, plus as you can see my powder wasn't perfect before I hit it with the heat gun, but I'm still happy overall. You learn from your mistakes. :)

For the inside I used some cloud paper that was left over and some white paper and inked it with pink so it all matches. :) The whole party was stunned that I handmade this card. :) That's why I do this, for everyone's reactions :)

For the hop today, I've created another birthday card for next weekend.. My really good friend had a baby a couple months after me so this is his first birthday! :)

All the cuts are from the Create a Critter cartridge. This is a 5x7 card.

I embossed the volcano with the swirl folder from cuttlebug and then I misted it with brown walnut ink and gold shimmer spray, it's really pretty in person :) The lava is embossed with polka dots folder and inked with black. "DinoMite" is cut out in green and from layer one I cut out the I and the blast and glued it on top for the firecracker. The original cut has a whole layer that lays on top and the only thing a different color is the blast. I liked this better so I altered it. :)

"Happy Birthday" is a rub on that I put in two different places to make my sentiment Happy Dinomite Birthday.

This little guy is cut from blue paper and then I used Blue Raspberry perfect pearls on him and set it with water... Hes GORGEOUS in the right lighting. I also embossed him with the swiss dots folder and popped up his belly and inked all edges.

The inside of my card has the same rub on in black and I used matching papers to decorate it. I used TH Distress Ink in walnut stain for the edges and then I misted it with my homemade perfect pearls and distress ink mister. I really like this card, it's so for a boy! :)

Cricut Craftin Friends Blog Hop Celebrating Cricut Craftin Grammys 1 year Blogaversary

All of my cuts are from the Create a critter cart. The train and its accessories at 3" and the critters at 1.5" each. The cloud puffs are 2 different ones. the 2 small ones are at .5" and .75" The third one and last one are cut at 1" and the big one is 1.5" all cuts are inked with black ink and popped up. The stamp came from a recollections set I think. Every single paper except the green and polka dot paper came from scrap paper that had already been cut! Now that's recycling!! :)

The inside is made from the leftover paper from the train so it all coordinates and I stitched some matching patches with faux stitching.

The little hats are K & Company and the only thing I didn't use my cricut for.

I used Peachy Keen Stamps for his eyes by masking off the whole face except for one eye at a time and placing each one where I wanted it then colored the whites with my white gel pen and doodled.

His face is also a Peachy Keen face stamp and I emphasized the design on the trunk and doodled on his ears.

Also a Peachy Keen stamp cut out of the backing of a paper stack. (Recycling again!) I doodled on his hat and on all the wheels of the train.

Editing my pictures

After many days I have finally gone through all of my old pictures and edited them.. and I also went through all of my old posts and changed the pictures out. Also on my Facebook. I had no idea how horrible my lighting was and how bad of pictures I was taking. They are all now true to life in color and lighting. They are a LOT more pleasurable to look at now! LOL I am very satisfied and a job well done!! Go check them all out in my gallery for quick viewing! :)

Lasting Memories DT Challenge - A "Real" Treat

This week over at Lasting Memories Challenge blog, our challenge is to use a recipe on your layout....BUT not a crafty one. ;) It has to be a real one! That everyone can try out on their own. Whether it be food, drinks, bath salts, home remedies, etc. is completely up to you! :)

Here is my layout for the challenge:

I started with paper from the DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies stack. My title and martini glass are dimensional stickers from Soft Spoken that I just bought for this layout. I used the green and orange from the title for my mats and flower and the blue flower in my dress for the blue mats, mini rosettes, and envelope.

The tag is removable to see my recipe! See below...

Glitter flower is Recollections and mini rosette is made from a strip that is 1"x6" and I inked it with pink and used a pink gem for the center.

Buttons are from my stash. I used Pink Sorbet twine in some of them and on a couple of the pink ones I used Pink Gumball Perfect Pearls. I have never used these before so I was just playing around with my new toys ;) (left pink button)

Flourishes are glitter chipboard stickers from Michaels.

I used my brand new Stampendous Frantage Shabby Pink embossing enamel on the edges of my envelope. Let me tell you, this stuff is GORGEOUS in real life. It's whie enamel with pink powders and gold flecks that melt in when heated. Oh it's pretty! :) I also used my new Fiskars Apron Lace edge punch and Pink Sorbet twine from the twinery.

Here is my tag cut from George and Basic Shapes at 3" that includes my recipe for the drinks we had that night, here is what it says;

Slippery Nipples:

1/2 Baileys Irish Cream

1/2 Butterscotch Schnapps (Yumm)

Use a 1oz shot glass

DRINK! :)

I used my TH tiny attacher for some tiny staples on my tag.

Getting Scrappy DT Challenge! -- Flurries of Fun!

YAY! It's time for another Getting Scrappy Challenge over at Amanda's Crafts and More!

This week the challenge is "Flurries of Fun!"

Make a winter or snow layout

& of course use at least one cricut or svg cut

Here is my layout for the challenge:

The snowflake paper is from a paperstack that I bought YEARS ago at Michaels. The polka dot paper is Recollections paperstack also at Michaels. I wanted to keep my papers simple to emphasize my pictures and cute little penguin.

My title is cut out from the Simply Sweet cartridge at 2". I used DS to weld the letters together and then I traced around each one with a black marker. The subtitle is a vellum phrase by Colorbok. The 2 little jewels were included in a DT gift package from Amanda!! Thank you Amanda! The little metal snowflakes are Making Memories. I used Diamond Glaze to glue my vellum and snowflakes down. I used too much on my vellum but its okay because it just made the top and around it glossy. :) and it reminds me of slippery ice!

My second favorite element on my layout!! (my first being my daughter ;P) This cute little guy is cut from the Create-a-critter cartridge at 4". I used glitter embossing powder on the entire white piece which is kindof hard to see. Then I used my PK Everyday character face stamp. I inked each eye separately and put them where I wanted them, then I inked his mouth and put it where I wanted that. I used the penguin beak that came on the cartridge for his nose, and I inked and put his nose and feet up on pop dots. The bling on his scarf was also included in Amanda's DT gift package! She's so awesome!

December is a recollections stamp that I heat embossed with white. I made the flags by using little scrap strips and punching out the ends with the corner of a square punch and doodled on each one.

Lasting Memories Challenge - "Happy New Year!"

It's that time of the week again for a "Lasting Memories" Challenge!

The challenge this week is "Happy New Year!"

Now, first of all, I am no exception to scrapper's block, and I waited until what I thought was last minute before I realized I had one more day left...LOL! This was a really tough challenge for me at first because I haven't scrapped pictures of myself since 2007. After that I took a few years off and completely lost my scrapping mojo until my daughter was a few months old. Ever since then, all layouts have been of and for her. I avoided my desk all week and racked my brain with ideas and surfed the web for hours... So at first I wanted to use a play on words for a resolution or something and still sneak in a layout of my daughter but then I said go for it.... You're going to want pictures of yourself some day to remember YOU, and I give complete credit to the challenge this week for my renewed mojo of scrapping photos of myself and other family members from over the years. My last scrapbook goes up to 2005.. I got stalled after our Mexican cruise in 2006 and all pictures since then have been collecting dust. Thank you Lasting Memories! ;)

Anyways, long story short, don't forget about yourself! One day you will wake up and look back at your scrapbooks and not have any memories from the little moments in your life before the big stuff happened.. At least that's how it almost was for me! Maybe there is someone out there that got stuck in a rut like I did. I was so focused on the biggest thing in my life right now that I neglected old memories that needed to get recorded on paper and out of the trap I call my computer! Lol.

For my layout, I chose pictures of last year's new year's eve for 2011.

I loved the countdowns that I seen on some other layouts and I really wanted to use it on mine. All the numbers are cut from the Alphalicious Cricut cartridge. Photo mats are K&Company paper and polka dot glitter paper is Best Creation Inc. I also used TH walnut stain distressing ink on the edge of the whole layout and around the flags and photo mats. I threw some tiny staples in there too using TH tiny attacher, simply because it's new :) They are on the ends of the banner and on the ends of the paper strips.

This flower is made form the same paper as the photo mats and polka dot paper, I cut out circles of each and glued them together back to back and used this tutorial on how to make it. I LOVE how it came out! Did I mention I LOVE it!? You will definitely see these more often :) I have very rarely made my own embellishments for my pages and I am hooked! I want more ideas for handmade flowers and other embellishments, If you know of any please PLEASE leave me a comment or link and I will be sure to check it out!

For my clock face I printed a clock mask off the internet onto printer paper and used a razorblade to cut out the numerals. Then I used it as a mask like any other plastic or chipboard mask. I made my own mister with TH distressing ink refill in Chipped Sapphire and some water in an empty mister by Ranger. I then used Tsuniko shimmer spritz in silver on top of the TH to add shimmer. The game spinners are also TH, set at midnight. I used Enamel Accents in white to accent each number of the countdown and in the corner of this photo I used MS edge punch for the polka dot paper in Doily Lace.

I used Momenta puffy stickers for "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" And Recollections stamp set for the "2011"

Twine in Charcoal is from the Twinery. I used a circle punch and folded it over the twine and glued shut. I'm really falling for banners ;)

crafty corner storage

I share my craft room with my own bedroom and my daughters room so you can only imagine how crowded my room is. Lol. I wanted to do a quick tell-all about how I make my little corner of craftiness work. I hope I can help someone else that is as crowded as I am :)

First off starting with the left side of the corner is my cube shelving unit. I love it! It holds sooo much. This is where my cricut and some albums go. Inside the cubes holds a lot of random stuff. Like photo boxes and edge punches and my xyron sticker makers. It also has a lot of non-scrappy stuff like school books, Kenzie's books, and in the canvas drawers are random things like clothes I didn't want to put away ;) lol OHH and not to mention all Kenzie's toys that are too big for the rest of the house -__-

To the right of that there is my desk.. Not much room if you ask me, that is why recently we put a huge table in the middle of my room. Totally in the way but so much more work space! I can shove the table under the printer when I need it out of the way but it hasn't been there yet! There's Kenzie flipping through the pages of my 4x6 paper pads.. She's obsessed with paper already!!!! On the left side are all of my papers, then all my stickers and scraps and embellies are in the drawers and to the right on top of the desk (not shown) are my little drawers for little stuff. (my desk is a mess ;))

These shelves are sold at Michaels. This is 2 paper stacker ones on top of each other.

First shelf is my Best of K&Company pad (also where I store my cricut mats)

Second shelf is all of my Best Creations 12x12 and 6x6 that I won from Britt:) at Life, Paper, Scissors

Third shelf is all of my single sheets and papers I use the most, including my open pack of Echo Park (LOVE)

Next is my paper stacks

Then my mat stacks and cardstock 12x12 Loose sheets (underneath)

And the rest are more paper pads

On to the colorful drawers under my desk:

The top drawer is all my pens, then the second drawer is all of my letters and letter stickers and my diamond glaze.

Next is all my stamp pads, mists, inks and embossing powders and stamp cleaner

Then all of my clear stamps, rubber stamps, PKS and punches

Then scraps!!!

Last on the left side is all my cardstock 8.5x11

top drawer on the right side is my embossing folders, ATG and heat gun, and stencils and tissue tape by TH

On top of the desk that I was talking about above I have my small drawers that have my tool kit...

I don't know why the white out is in here.. but this one is pliers and circle cutter templates

zig pen, tape runner and pop dots.. and in the top are my white board pens.

I hope this showed someone that you can have alottttt in a little bit of space with the right system.. I have a little organizational problem but hey it works for me and everything has its place and if it's moved I know it. :)

Lasting Memories Challenge - Getting to know you

It's time for Lasting Memories first challenge of the year! I had so much fun doing my introduction page for my first layout as part of the DESIGN TEAM!!!

I hope you will join us in the challenges and I reallllllllyyyy hope I can provide you with some inspiration along with the other amazzzzing design team members! :)

Here is my first challenge:

"Getting to know you"

First of all I feel like my title explains it all :) "I'm a mother above all else"

All patterned papers used are from Echo Park Country Drive, along with the flower stickers and title tag. I inked the white paper (recollections) with green and stitched around the layout with a green glitter gel pen.

I used Blossom twine from the twinery to tie my elements together and to add a little texture ;)

I added bling from Recollections to all the flower centers.

"mother" is from Me & My Big Ideas Alphachips chipboard stickers with glitter. And I added bling to the flowers printed on the tag as well.

I used a sketch from Pagemaps for this page.. This sketch is from March 2011:

Getting Scrappy Challenge - Anything Goes!

Today is our first challenge on Getting Scrappy Challenges as a DESIGN TEAM!

I hope you will come join us over at Getting Scrappy and play along in our first challenge of the year!

Here is my layout! The challenge is:

"Anything Goes"

I chose a picture of my daughters little foot when she was just born and I used acrylic paint splatter for the first time! I wanted to do something new to represent my new role as a design team member! The polka dot glitter paper and the black glitter paper is from Best Creations and the blue paper is Echo Park Country Drive.

I also used embossing powder for the first time from Recollections and stamped an image from studio g. The scalloped circle is cut from the Lacy Labels cartridge at 3" and 2.75" The black glitter paper is Best Creations.

I added random rhinestones in the splatter designs for added bling and texture and visual interest :)

The bling is recollections, extra singles added here as well in black and gray.

The glitter flower and bling button are Recollections, tied off with twine from The Twinery in Charcoal. The itty bitty stamp is a studio G stamp. The frame is also cut from the Lacy Labels cartridge at 2.5" and 2.25". I inked the edge of the blue paper with some silver ink and popped the flower up on a pop dot.

Water Baby

I'm still truckin' along on Kenzie's first year album.. I am now on July '11. I decided that I am going to do a month at a time so I can get at least caught up to the more recent pictures of her, or else I would still be on her newborn pics haha! This way I can then go back throughout the year and get the rest in there and just put them where they go (if they are in order, others are by theme or just bunched together)

Here is girly layout for July :)

I'm so in love with it.. it's one of my ultimate favorites of everything I've made :D

Isn't it the cutest page you ever seen!

I used Best Creations Jubilee Paper for the background, the trees, little butterflies and swirls on top are printed on it and glittery! The heart paper is the back of it, I cut out the block where the pictures are and used the other side (Great Way to get maximum use!) Then I used a edge punch for the scallop things. The paper behind the pictures with the butterflies is from K&Co.

The stickers "summer", "swim", and alphas "July 2011" are from Echo Park Summer Days Alpha stickers and the blue strip sticker is Echo Park Country Drive. The rhinestone flourish is from M's.

This little birdy is from Recollections Signature (I love everything that M's made for this collection) So cutesy! She is up on a little pop dot chirping away :)

The birdhouse is from the same pack at the birdy, and again the stickers are EP Country Drive

I used Alphalicious Cart and welded the words together using my DS and outlined it with a glitter pen.

I am entering this into Frosted Designs Sketch along Tuesdays challenge.

Kenzie's First Christmas (2010)

Hi! Over at "Lasting Memories", they are having a design team call for 2012! They are layouts only which is perrrrfecttt for me since I need to get my butt in gear and crank out those layouts of Kenzie's first year. The current design team is amazing, so I wanted to apply for the design team call and complete their challenge this week. Wish me Luck!

And finally here is my layout!

The picture on the left is so much like the inspirational photo I had to use it! It is Kenzie at only 1 month old admiring the Christmas tree lights :) the one on the right is her little Christmas pjs with reindeer on the feet and says Baby's First Christmas on the tag on her chest.

This is a little tag that came on one of her gifts from this Christmas, I though it was soo cute I wanted to use it as an embellishment. It's one of those little picture things that changes when you move it side to side. I used little metal accent snowflakes and tied twine from the twinery in peapod and maraschino (love their color names!) into a little bow and attached it with a glue dot.

I used metal letters and instead of attaching them with brads or eyelets, I glued them with a zig pen and put little gray rhinestones over the holes, then popped the whole thing up on pop dots.

I used my Martha Stewart score board to accordian fold this strip along the bottom and attached just the ends so it would stay 3D. I then stamped a little circle only halfway underneath and put the year and Kenzie's name.

First Scrapbook Ever

This was my first scrapbook I ever made and I made it for my mom. It is mainly of my older brother, my younger sister, and I. I made it back in 2004 when I was only 15. It is 8 1/2" x 11" and bound by a 1 1/2" binder. I think I did a fantastic job for my first time AND without any knowledge whatsoever about bloggieland for inspiration! ;) Thought I would share my first time with all of you :)
