LSHD Challenge - Recipe Card

The new challenge this week over at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs is to create a recipe card! I have never done this before so I had a lot of fun with it :)

For the base of my card I put the Freebie file, "Recipe Cards" into my SCAL2 and welded two of them together to make a folder type card.
I printed a picture from online, of a food that I have been wanting to make ever since I moved out of the house I lived in with roommates. They used to make these and they were so delicious! They are called Kibbeh, and they are a meat and spices filled ball made out of bulgar wheat, with onions and pinenuts inside.... mmmm so good! I found TONS of recipes online so I chose one and printed it out. I made a label for my card and used EP as a photo mat. My little chef is from the LSHD Kiss the Cook file.

Here is my folder recipe card opened up.. you can click on it to make it larger..

In case you wanted to read and try my recipe here is a close up of the top page...

And a close up of the bottom page.

I found my recipe HERE..
After I made these using this recipe, I have to admit, the meat was DELICIOUS and exactly how I remembered it, but something about the crust was just not right and I don't know maybe I got the wrong wheat or didn't fry them right but I have to find what works best for me... When I had them before, a very experienced middle eastern woman was making them (my roommates mom) so I understand there could be some major differences.. but I swear by the meat! :) YUM!

Child's Play Guest Designer!

This week I am a guest designer over at Child's Play Challenges!
The challenge this time is to use a popular board game called Rush Hour, where you move the cars around in straight lines only and try to get your little red car out of the parking lot. I have only played this game on the computer but it is so addicting!

I took my inspiration from the way the cars are smashed together in different orientations and I laid my pictures to imitate the cars in the middle of the page.

My pictures are of Kenzie, all from age 4 months to about 6 or 7 months where she would always have her tongue out. It was so cute! :)

Here is my layout:
I started with white cardstock for my background and misted with pick and purple and then "smashed" all my pictures down and finished with banners and stickers :)

The stickers are from EP Little Girl collection.

I used all scraps for my banners from Echo Park Little Girl Collection and a little bit of Country drive (flower strips)

This page was so fun! Thank you so much for looking! :)

Mr. & Mrs.

So, I'm still working on my friend's wedding album, tying to keep the fantasy fairytale theme going, so you be the judge and tell me what you think :)
I used Little Scraps of Heaven Designs "Kissing Bride and Groom" pattern and I was going to use a picture of the kiss but they didn't give me one! They have it on video, so I chose a picture of them outside underneath a garden arch. I chose the black and white one so it would go better with the colors in the papers, the color of her dress was a purpley white, I just didn't want it to clash. I also used Graphic 45 Le Romantique paper, and I think it looks SOOOO PRETTY! I really love this page and how pretty it is :)

I used MAMBI dimensional stickers for my title, that went with the browns and tan colors of the whole book

a close up of my kissing couple.. also for sale HERE on my etsy :)

I fussy cut all the roses from one page of the G45 paper and I used Prima Say it in Crystals for some bling accents on my page :)

Let me know what you think and if this strays too far away from the Once upon a time theme for their wedding album :)

Happy Father's Day!

Is everyone ready for Father's Day tomorrow?? I am! I finally finished a card for both my bio dad and my step dad and I am so happy with them! I am only showing you one tonight because the other one is being revealed on Monday as part of LSHD Design Team Monday challenge reveal :)

Here is my card:
I used an SVG file from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs, called the Rock On (girls) collection, YES, Girls, lol I just left her ponytails off to make the pattern into a male, and I used a combo of other files to create his shirt and pants, but the outfit that comes in the boys file would work just fine... above is the link to both, so you choose which one you would like, if you would like to get it :)

I cut out some black circles and put a smaller white circle and then an even smaller black circle to create my vinyl albums and just doodled on them with a white gel pen for the shine. My background is created with TH tissue tape on black cardstock, and my sentiment is printed from my computer.

The inside of my card is a digistamp from Melonheadz, I just found this site and all her stamps are sooo cute and she has a TON of free ones! Like this one! :)

Check back on Monday for my other Father's day card! I promise you will love it! I do!!

HAPPY SCRAPPING!

Ps: I cut him out using my SCAL2 program which I have copies of that I am selling if anybody is interested! Email me if you would like details on how to get yours! :)

Graduation card from UC Davis!

I had a request from a friend to make her husband a graduation card as he was graduating from UC Davis this Friday.. I found some tutorials on how to make the diamond shape for the top of a grad cap and I sized it up to a 6x6 card and made a pocket for a gift card. I LOVE it!! She did too, now I just hope he does! :)

Click on the photo to make it larger
This card measures 6x6. I made the tassle myself from some blue and golden yellow embroidery floss. This card was so fun to make!

I printed Team Aggie onto some white cardstock and then added that to some more white cardstock for a shadow and to make it more sturdy. Then I popped it up on pop dots. I used black embossing powder on my sentiment and used my SCAL2 to make "you did it" from a font on my computer. I added a little pocket for a gift card and a space for her to write a little note to her husband :)

If interested I have copies of SCAL2 for sale on ebay right now :) just a little insiders tip.

Lasting Memories Challenge - Sweatin' to the Oldies

This week over at Lasting Memories our challenge is
"Sweatin' to the Oldies" with a twist
We want you to use summer song lyrics from the 50's to the 70's on your layouts!

I chose the famous Beach Boys! It went perfect with my beach photos of Kenzie even though it was technically spring! LOL

The song I chose is California Girls from 1965.
It is number 16 on the Billboard charts of Top 30 summer songs of all time!
I used the title for the title of my layout and I chose the lyric
"California girls...are the cutest girls in the world"
The lyrics sing about all the girls in every part of the states but they wish every girl was a California girl :)

The whole song doesn't apply to Kenzie or my layout but I thought that one line did since we ARE California girls and she IS the cutest girl in the world!!

Here is my layout:
(click on any picture to view it super sized!)
I hand ripped my sand hills and water waves, I really love how they looked before I covered them up lol

I cut my journaling spot from Lacy Labels and stamped with a hero arts stamp and doodled all around the edges

My little girl is a combo of files from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs as well as the bucket and shovel. The sancastle is a free file from Treasure Box Designs. I will be adding this mini set to my etsy shop so if you are interested in purchasing her please visit my shop under Scrappinforkenzie.. it is not fully stocked yet, as it's under construction but I have a few things if you would like to take a look :)

I used my SCAL2 to cut out Edwardian Script from my computer.. I have copies of this version also for sale so if  you are interested in purchasing SCAL2 that works with your cricut please email me!

I used a sketch for this layout:
I turned it upside down and flipped it.. I hope you can still see it.. sorta.. lol

This week's challenge over at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs is to use this super cute new sketch designed by Tricia! You have to use an LSHD pattern on it as well and you could win some free patterns!

Here is my layout:
I did Thanksgiving in June! HAHA
I just looove these two pictures of Kenzie and I on her very first Thanksgiving just 3 days before her first birthday. I used Lacy Labels cartridge to cut out my background shape and my journaling tag and the rest is LSHD patterns.

This little cutie is the "Baby's First Thanksgiving" file. It comes with the title that I used on my layout as well... And it's only $4! I popped him up on pop dots for extra dimension as well as the title. He was soooo fun to create!

Here you can see the dimension I mentioned and my cute little orange bow to tie everything together. :)

LSHD challenge- Top 10 Paper bag mini album

Hi everyone! Little Scraps of Heaven Designs is having a Top 10 challenge this week!
I made a paper bag album and a video to show you everything I put inside!
For this girl on the cover I used My Angel Girl and the bow is from A Mother's Love

Here are some closeups first of the patterns I used from LSHD to add to my album:

Bathing suit is from Pooltime Fun
Feet are from Girl in Capris
Hair and face is from Little Ballerinas
Arms and legs are from My Angel Girl

Hair is from Little Ballerina (only using one pigtail)
Rest of her body and feet are from Girl in Capris
Fussy cut the little sandal "v" on top of her foot

Crawling baby from Be My Baby Babies Collection
I tilted it downwards and made her eyes closed instead of open so she looks like shes sleeping

Here's my video! Enjoy!

Lasting Memories Challenge - How do you fold?

This week's challenge over at Lasting Memories is to show us how you fold your paper!

**edited to add better pics**

For my layout this week I made a pinwheel out of paper.
All papers are from the Baby Girl paper stack by DCWV except the dark green gingham from EP little girl collection and the little white strips with words are from the Nursery Baby Girl matstack.

To make this pinwheel you start with a square of double sided paper. Mine was 2.5"x2.5"
Then you cut each corner towards the middle but not all the way through
then you take one side of each corner and pull it down to the middle
then fasten with a brad and your done! I then added a button and twine to mine for the Seriously Creative challenge and added twine for my stem.
Here is a template you can print/use if you need it:

I fussy cut these little ticket tags from the DCWV stack and added chipboard thickers for my title.

I also fussy cut little mushrooms from the background paper and added them to my page.

Come over to Lasting Memories and show us how you fold! :) You have until next saturday, and there is a goody bag full of scrappy yumminess up for grabs this week!

I used a previous sketch by Pagemaps for my layout:

I am entering this into the following challenges:
